A note on my scan says: ‘There has been a clinically significant increase in bone mineral density at the hip since the previous scan’.
Sylvia was just 53 when she was diagnosed with severe osteoporosis. A DEXA scan revealed she had very low bone density with her lower spine having a T-score of -5.6 T. X-rays also showed she had experienced multiple fractures in her lower and upper back over the previous three years. Finally, she had an explanation for a number of unbearable episodes of pain!
Sylvia had asked for an X-ray or DEXA scan on two occasions but was told she was too young to have osteoporosis. When the medics realised the severity of her condition, they suggested she start on a synthetic hormone that is injected daily for two years. Sylvia didn’t like the sound of this: especially when she realised you can only use it once in your lifetime due to the many side effects that can affect the whole body – And it isn’t even guaranteed to build density!
Discovering Marodyne LiV was a stroke of luck – Sylvia’s daughter treated her to a magazine subscription and in the first issue she received there was a small piece about the device on its health pages. “I was delighted to know it was 100% natural, that anyone can use it and you simply stand on it for 10 minutes a day to see the benefit,” says Sylvia. “It sounded too good to be true, but I decided to give it a go.”
Her device arrived in March 2020, soon after her DEXA scan. She started using it straight away and hasn’t missed a day since. She uses it first thing in the morning for 10 minutes and then again around teatime.
“The first thing I noticed was my leg and lower back muscles became much stronger: I hoped that if my muscles improved with Marodyne LiV, then so too will my bones.”
At Sylvia’s second DEXA scan they refused to scan her spine, saying that the multiple fractures would give a false reading. In fact, Sylvia doesn’t have one normal vertebra that isn’t fractured or damaged. They agreed to scan her hips but warned Sylvia to expect a 1-2% loss given the year that had elapsed. Instead, her scan showed a 4.4% increase in her right hip and a 10% increase in her left hip. A note on Sylvia’s scan says: ‘There has been a clinically significant increase in bone mineral density at the hip since the previous scan’. “I was absolutely thrilled: the relief was immense!”
We can’t ignore the damaging impact osteoporosis has on women’s lives
Up to 80% of us will experience osteoporosis in our lifetimes
To protect patients and healthcare providers, we need to focus on preventing the causes of osteoporosis, not treating the outcomes
We are working together with Menohealth to create a society free from osteoporosis. Julie Robinson, founder of Menohealth, shares our ethos that prevention is better than ‘cure’ when managing menopause symptoms and actively encourages women to take control of their bodies at this time of their life.
“I’m reassured by the fact Marodyne LiV is clinically approved to prevent and combat osteoporosis and the science backing its effectiveness looks strong,” says Julie. “As a 100% natural way to boost bone health, Marodyne LiV sits well alongside our stance here at Menohealth of taking a holistic approach to healthcare. I have no hesitation in recommending women look at using Marodyne LiV alongside making healthy diet and lifestyle choices during menopause.”
